  • It has 30 spaces that are shared with other establishments.

  • It is located 73 feet to the west of the accessible front entrance.

  • The establishment is within the STA service area for para-transit
  • The nearest STA Bus stop is # 2342 on bus route # 44 along 29th Avenue, east of Grand Blvd.
  • The stop is located 330 feet from the Chalet’s main entrance
  • The stop has a bench.
  • The best route from the bus stop to the establishment is the sidewalk along the south side of 29th and the west side of Grand Blvd.
  • It is minimum of 44 inches wide, is free of permanent obstacles, is firm and slip resistant, and has sufficient curb cuts where needed.
  • Daytime lighting is adequate to see pathways and signage.

EXTERIOR

  • Ramps and steps are not needed to enter the establishment.
  • There is a paved walkway on the south side of the building with a slight slope (less than 1%).

  • The establishment has places 60 inches wide for wheelchairs and scooters to turn around.

  • Customers can maneuver between tables without bumping into chairs.

  • There are two restrooms located inside near the entrance. Patrons enter an interior door into a hallway.
  • Both restrooms are designated “unisex” and can be locked from the inside.
  • Patrons do not need to ask for a key to use the restrooms.
  • The restrooms do not have stalls.
  • Toilet seats are 17” high.
  • The toilets, faucets, and soap dispensers are operated manually.
  • The towel dispenser is motion operated.
  • Lighting is medium and adequate for mobility and reading signs.
  • Restrooms are marked with signs with color contrast, Braille, and raised lettering
  • Signage on latch side of door between 48” and 60” high
  • Doors, handles, and levers can be operated with a closed fist
  • Grab bars are easily reachable behind the toilet and on side walls
  • Basins and taps are at least 30” with room for a wheelchair to roll under
  • Soap dispensers are no more than 48” from the floor

COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES

  • A phone is available with adjustable volume controls.
  • The phone is no more than 48 inches from the floor.
  • If a patron is unable to hear, staff will communicate through writing. [At least one employee knew ASL during our visit.]
  • Patrons may contact this establishment through phone, email or a contact form on the website.

MENUS

  • Daily specials are written on a white board at the entrance, and are spoken out loud by service staff.
  • Staff will read menu items upon request. Menus are available online in PDF format.
