With the input from a lot of local people with disabilities, and with help from students in Eastern Washington University’s Disability Studies program, we have developed a checklist of accessibility features.
These features include such things as width of doorways, angles of ramps, lighting in walkways, use of closed-captioning, and many more.
We are using the checklist to find out which local places have these features. Then we will share that information with the owners of those places, and share it with others through our online directory.
We are also providing owners with information on those kinds of things they might try to attract more visitors, customers, worshippers, patrons, diners — along with their friends, family members, care providers, colleagues and other allies.
