Accessibility Reviews begin in Spokane

Access 4 All Spokane has moved into the next phase of our project: Visiting local businesses to find accessibility features and disability-friendly customer service.

On Tuesday, May 10, teams of trained Accessibility Ambassadors used our one-of-a-kind accessibility checklist to review Indaba Coffee’s two locations, 210 N. Howard and 1425 W. Broadway, and IHOP at 5403 E. Sprague.

Stay tuned for the results of what we found!

Resounding Success at Bloomsday Trade Show!

Our Accessibility Ambassadors from Access 4 All Spokane had two terrific days at our information booth during the Bloomsday Trade Show.

We met many people that are interested in accessibility and disability friendliness. Several out-of-towners talked about how much they love to come to Bloomsday because of the welcoming attitudes they encounter in Spokane.

We handed out nearly 200 flyers about who we are, what we do, along with tips on how to provide the best customer service experience. And, we signed up 30 new people to our email updates list.

Special thanks to our Accessibility Ambassadors Alisa Alonge, Larry Gorton, Kathy Shearer, Jennifer Simons, Katrina Montemayor, Jude Cormier, Deb Jenkins, Allene Osborn, and our youngest recruit Cheyenne.

Thanks also to the Lilac Bloomsday Association for donating the booth space, and for their incredible support during the event.

We will definitely be back next year to celebrate and encourage accessible and disability friendly places, services and events across Spokane County!
